In June 2017 there will be a Coldplay concert in a city in my region. If we will not have solved the packet question by then I will probably also be outside the arena with some kind of sniffing device, hoping that the RF will be strong enough to be received outside Stefan hi stefan, Are you ready for sniffing ? best regard At least partially, yes! Not as nice as your integrated sniffer/logger, but I lent an commercial SPI Analyzer and connected it up to one of the Xylobands that so far did not receive any of my test packets. I also want to prepare the Teensy++ as a receiver so that I can change parameters like frequency while being near the venue. Alas, as of the latest very sad events at concerts I fear I might not be able to get near enough to the stadium with technical equipment... Kind regards, Stefan Attachments:

YES!I just returned from (outside) the Coldplay concert in Hannover. I went there equipped with the "Speaker Model" Xyloband attached to the SPI monitor, an SDR receiver and my Xyloband transmitter with code to use it as a receiver. I had the fear that I would not be able to receive anything outside the stadium, but as soon as I turned on my notebook near the venue i already heard transmissions at 869,5 MHz with the SDR! The SPI monitor also showed unusual activity and soon the Xyloband began blinking! Yes, success! I then started walking around the stadium to find a place with good reception. Probably the band missed lots of packets, but as least some I have captured. I now have 1.739.731 SPI records (of course mostly just polling for received data) and 3.08 GB of SDR Q/I recordings to analyze. I did not even use the custom receiver as sniffing the SPI worked so nicely. After the concert was over I noticed the people leaving actually had 5c models (at least they looked exactly like them from the outside), not the speaker model. However, it seemed my Xyloband did what the ones of the regular guests did, so there seems to be at least a certain level of compatibility! Kind regards, Stefan
